Orientation to Reading and Writing

This two-day hands-on workshop is for new adult education instructors.  Each day is action filled with activities and lessons to assist you in your new role as adult educator.  By the end of day two you will be able to identify practical strategies and applications for teaching adults to read and write. You will discover a variety of teaching strategies to improve your performance and gain a sense of how to apply the various teaching strategies to your work.  You will be able to distinguish various reading assessment techniques to gain a better understanding of teaching effectiveness.

The content for this workshop is aligned to KAELI principles.  This workshop is sponsored by KAELI which is a part of the Collaborative Center for Literacy Development at the University of Kentucky. 

*This workshop is for Kentucky Adult Education funded instructors only.

** This workshop is mandatory for ABE instructors.
