History

In 1998, the Kentucky General Assembly passed Senate Bill 186, which established the Collaborative Center for Literacy Development; Early Childhood through Adulthood (CCLD). The purpose of CCLD is to make available training for educators in reliable, replicable, research-based reading instruction and to promote literacy development. The instruction must represent a balance of strategies that address the diverse learning needs of students.  KRP is an initiative of CCLD, providing professional development to elementary school teachers throughout the state.
