CCLD Kentucky Literacy NewsCCLD sponsors workshop to be held in multiple locations The Collaborative Center for Literacy Development is hosting a workshop "Shared Responsibility: Growing the Readers We Want." This workshop will focus on academic readiness in reading for college preparation. It is designed to address the Senate Bill 1 (2009) mandates, discuss reading strategies, and share staff professional development models. The target audience for the workshops include college, university, and technical school faculty, as well as school district superintendents. High school principals and educators may also participate. To accommodate as many participants as possible from the state's various geographic regions, the workshop will be held in three locations: Bowling Green (June 22), Lexington (July 14), and Pikeville (August 11). A fourth session has been announced for the western part of the state in Bowling Green (August 4). To accommodate school districts returning to session around that date, an altered event schedule is being offered. $150 stipend and free books and materials for the first 100 registrations at each site!
This event has been approved for 6 hours of EILA credit.
