Collaborative Center for Literacy Development
CCLD is committed to improving student achievement through rigorous professional development opportunities for teacher and administrators. Improving teacher quality emphasizing content area literacy in grades 4-12, CCLD uses research based models to collaborate with schools effectively meeting the needs of their students and staff in implementing literacy strategies and practice. Linking Kentucky’s public universities with school districts empowers teachers to become lifelong learners while increasing their skills and knowledge and becoming more effective teachers able to serve the diverse needs of their students. Evaluation components determine the effectiveness of literacy models employed.
